Join us for Bridge to Brisbane!

This year's Bridge to Brisbane is coming up soon on Sunday 13 September 2026 and we would love for you to join Team Spinal Life and Sporting Wheelies.

As part of the Spinal Life and Sporting Wheelies team, you can collect a free T-shirt and cap to wear for the race (details below).

Date: Sunday 13 September

Time: Meet at 9:30am

Meeting location: Hercules Park

We encourage you to have a support worker, friends and family join you in the race for assistance if needed, especially if it is your first time.

So what do you need to do to get involved?

Step 1: Click here to visit the official Bridge to Brisbane registration page.

Step 2: Fill out your details and select your preferred event – 5km Run/Walk, 10km Run or 10km Wheelchair Event. Please note that our team will be participating in the 5km (Blue Run), a fun run for participants of all abilities. Continue through the registration form until you reach the team registration page.

Step 3: On page 4, tick the 'entering as a team' checkbox. Search for team name 'Spinal Life Australia and Sporting Wheelies' and enter the pin 4102.  Select your estimated finish time from the dropdown menu. If you're joining our team for the 5km (Blue Run), choose 45 mins – 1 hr 30 mins from the dropdown menu. This will place you in the Purple Start Zone, so you can start with the rest of the team.

Refer to the image on the right as a guide for joining our team and selecting the Purple Start Zone.

Step 4: If you'd like to fundraise, continue to the Select Charity page and choose either Spinal Life Australia or Sporting Wheelies: Powered by Spinal Life Australia and complete the entry. This will enable our Finance team to allocate any fundraising to Spinal Life or Sporting Wheelies services and programs. No matter what you choose, you will be supporting people with disability to live accessible, equitable and empowered lives.

Step 5: Share the link with your family members so they can support you ahead of the event.

Step 6: Fill out this form by 14 August to get your free T-shirt and cap!

Step 7: Stay tuned for more details from us leading up to the event.

FAQs about the Bridge to Brisbane

All the information is available on the Bridge to Brisbane website but we have highlighted some key information below for you.

  • There are two event distances to choose from – 5km and 10km. Our team will be participating in the 5km Blue Run (Walk/Wheel). To start together, we recommend selecting the estimated finish time that places you in the Purple Start Zone, which is ideal for walkers and social participants. This link shows the elevation of the course as there is quite a steep gradient coming out of the CLEM7 tunnel to be wary of.

  • There are Race Marshals positioned along the course to assist with any medical issues.
  • There are accessible toilets at the start and finish lines but not along the course.
  • Participants with a Companion Card who require a support worker should complete the Companion Form on the Bridge to Brisbane website after registering. Include a copy of your Companion Card and your entry confirmation number. The event organisers will then provide a free registration link for your support worker.
  • Spinal Life/Sporting Wheelies will not be providing any support staff for the event, so we encourage you to organise to have your support worker or friends and family join you in the race, especially if it is your first time.
