 To support your patient’s rehabilitation and long-term goals, Spinal Life Australia's Back2Work and Peer Support services provide specialised guidance during their transition from hospital to home and in the community. 

Back2Work

Back2Work provides early intervention vocational rehabilitation for people with a newly acquired spinal cord injury, or damage.

We can assist with returning to work, discovering a new job or career, explore study options, retraining and exploring new curses as well as supporting their employer for a return to work.

To be eligible your patient:

  • Has a newly acquired spinal cord injury or spinal cord damage.
  • Is still in hospital/TRP or up to one month post discharge
  • Wants to explore options around work/study/volunteering

Peer Support

Peer Support is a group of passionate individuals with lived experience of a spinal cord injury.

The team pride themselves on providing honest and helpful advice, with no question being too personal or off limits.

We can assist your patient with:

  • Understanding and managing their Spinal Cord Injury/Damage, through 1:1 appointments or family peer support sessions
  • Learn new ways to adapt and problem solve
  • Discover various opportunities for social and sporting connections and physical fitness activities
  • Learn how to reduce risk and improve safety and wellbeing
